CL: Egyptian referee, Grisha to handle Lobi,  Mamelodi Sundowns 

CAF Champions League hopeful, Lobi Stars will have familiar foes at the centre when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in the first game of the group stage tie billed for the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu after CAF named Egyptian referee, Gehad Grisha as the centre referee and others to officiate the fixture.

The Pride of Benue qualified for the group stage after beating Gor Mahia of Kenya on the away goal rule applied after a 3-3 aggregate result and they have been paired in Group A along Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and  ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’ Ivoire.

CAF named the Egyptian arbiter whose last engagement with any Nigerian side was when he officiated the Super Eagles’ Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Uyo which Nigeria won 4-0.

Lobi Stars will strive to start the money-spinning club competition with a home win and try to go a step further than the third spot they placed in their inaugural participation in the competition in 2000. Grisha will be assisted by compatriots.
