Club Brugge champions again, Dennis biggest flop
Emmanuel Dennis has been rated the biggest flop in another title-winning season for Club Brugge in Belgium.
Club Brugge retained the Belgian championship Thursday night after a thrilling 3-3 draw at Anderlecht.
However, it was a most difficult campaign for their Nigeria star Dennis.
Voetbalprimeur.be scored the winger 2 out of 10, the worst rating for any Club Brugge player this season.

“A player who cannot speak of a successful season is Emmanuel Dennis. The Nigerian has shown gusts of his class at Club Brugge in recent years, but there was no sign of that at all this season,” rated Voetbalprimeur.be
“The attacker never really seemed to have stepped into the story of Club Brugge ’20 -’21 and was hardly used by Philippe Clement. Several times the attacker also appeared to have injury problems and he was kept out of the selection or remained on the bench.
“After ten matches at Club Brugge, the bomb hit completely at Club Brugge at the end of November. The attacker no longer wanted to sit on Club Brugge’s second bus and, after some discussion, was eventually left home for the away match against Borussia Dortmund.
“The forward eventually played two more matches for Club Brugge, but it soon became clear that he was going to leave. He played 13 matches for Club Brugge, in which he scored once and was good for three assists.”
The assessment continued: “Dennis finally said goodbye to Club Brugge during the winter transfer period and went to work for 1. FC Köln. That turned out not to be a success.
“At the German club he only scored once in 10 matches and was good for only one assist.
“Last summer, he was linked to various foreign clubs. However, Club Brugge asked for the jackpot. After a failed season, Club Brugge will sell Dennis, but that will have to be done at a bargain price.
“NOT PASSED: Because of his achievements and mishaps, we can’t help but give Dennis a thick tube this season: 2 out of 10.”
