Computer model predicts Scudetto winner

It is only 12 rounds into the season, but the Opta Predictor already claims Inter have an 83 per cent chance of winning the Scudetto.

The Nerazzurri went into the break for international duty sitting top of the Serie A table with a two-point advantage over Juventus.

Despite the fact they go head-to-head in Turin on November 26, the predictive model used by the Opta computer still sees little hope for anyone else to challenge Simone Inzaghi’s men.

They have an 83.3 per cent chance of taking the title come May 2024, compared to just 13.1 per cent for Juventus.

Things look positively hopeless for the chasing pack, as Milan’s odds of winning the Scudetto are just 2.1 per cent, reigning Champions Napoli only 1.3 per cent, while Roma and Lazio are on 0 per cent.

Surprisingly, the computer model does give Atalanta a better chance of taking the title than their Eternal City rivals, specifically 0.1 per cent.
