Costa Rica 2022 set to roll as FIFA releases squad list

 

With barely a week to the kickoff of U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, FIFA has confirmed and released the squad list for the championship.

The full squads for the 16 participating teams have now been published, as anticipation mounts for the first of two FIFA women’s youth tournaments taking place this year.

Following an exciting month of women’s football around the world and with the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ also fast approaching, the world’s brightest emerging talents and future superstars of the women’s game will take to the field at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup™ in Costa Rica from 10 to 28 August 2022.

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 will kick-off with a spectacular opening day on 10 August, which will see Germany play Colombia and New Zealand meet Mexico.

The opening day will conclude with two huge Group A matches with Brazil playing Spain, and host nation Costa Rica playing their opening match against Australia.

The winners of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 will be crowned 18 days later, with the final set to take place at San José’s Estadio Nacional on Sunday 28 August. Christopher Danjuma tutored Falconets are flying Africa’s flag alongside  Black Maidiens of Ghana. Falconets will open shop in Costa Rica against France on August 12, battle South Korea August 14 and round off the group stage with a clash against Canada on August 18.
