‘Messi could walk out on Barcelona before end of season’

Lionel Messi could walk away from Barcelona before the end of this season.

With the campaign to extend well before the expected end date, Messi could quit the Nou Camp by the end of next month.

Okdiario says Messi’s contract, which runs to 2021, carries a clause which allows the Argentine to quit for nothing should he declare his wish to do so on May 31.

However, it’s understood Messi has no intention to trigger the option – though also doesn’t plan to enter new contract talks anytime soon.

Instead, the Barca captain is willing to wait until after the club’s presidential election before making a decision over his future.
