Cyprus Women’s Cup: Falcons train twice for Belgium

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have changed their training itinerary ahead of tomorrow’s last group match against Belgium at the on-going Cyprus Women’s Imvitational Tournament which they need to win.

Consequently the Thomas Dennerby led-girls are expected to train twice today so that the lapses identified during their last two matches  against Slovakia and Austria can be corrected. They will train this morning and in the evening.

Since arriving for the 12-Nation Tournament last Monday, which is the first for the Africa Champions, the Falcons have been training only once, but after conceding seven goals and with the way they have played so far can explain the need for the coaches to drill the players against a Belgian side that have not lost.

The Nigeria girls lost their opening match to Austria 4-1 and narrowly defeated Slovakia 4-3 on Friday to record their first victory and earn the three points to occupy the third position in group C.  The match would have ended in a draw if not that the Slovakians lost a last minute penalty.
