D/League: Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan wins 100m Hurdle sets new African record

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan was a delight to watch Thursday at the Diamond league where she did not only win the 100m Hurdle but also set a new African record.

Amusan zoomed to a time of 12.42s thus reducing highly revered Gloria Alozie’s record of by point two seconds.

Glory Alozie’s previous feat was 12.44s set in 1999 and so Amusan becomes the first Nigerian to ever win a Diamond League title.

Amusan missed the podium in Tokyo but kept intensifying effort to her zurich feat

And if you think the feat is going to end in a handshake you are wrong as she will pocket USD 30,000 (about N15million) in prize money as well as getting a wild card for next year’s World Athletics Championships in Oregon, U.S.A
