Dakkada FC relegated from NPFL

Dakkada FC have been relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Uyo based side slipped down to the division two of Nigerian football league pyramid after a 1-1 draw against Lobi Stars on Saturday.

Dakkada went into the tie at the Nest of Champions, needing maximum points from the game to keep their hopes of staying up alive.

They enjoyed a start to the match and deservedly went in front through Lanre Akinlade’s 47th minute strike.

However, Dakkada failed to kill off the tie and the visitors found their way back as they were awarded a penalty four minutes after hour mark.

Elijah Ani stepped forward and converted from six yards to equal the scores.

Dakkada failed to find the second goal as Lobi Stars held on for a vital point.

The result brought an end to the club’s four years in the topflight.
