Dart champ Gerwyn Price craves for O’Sullivan showdown

Gerwyn Price wants a showdown with Ronnie O’Sullivan insisting he is a wizard on the felt as well as the oche.

Multi-talented Price was a professional rugby player before turning his hand to darts.

He has even proven he’s something of a football sensation, with a viral appearance on Soccer AM earlier this month.

But there is yet another string to his sporting bow – and has been achieving perfection on his three-quarter sized snooker table in his man cave at home.

And the world’s best darts player would love a showdown with his snooker hero Ronnie.

Price said: “I’ve had a 147, but with 10 balls… a 107 maximum with 10 reds!

“Get me up against Ronnie!”

So it begs the question, is there anything that Price can’t do?

“I’m not into golf or cricket or anything like that, but if it’s a sport I enjoy I tend to be quite good at it because I’ll put the time in.

“You never know, I might pick up a golf club and I might be on the PGA Tour!”

Price is the first to admit that the past month has been one of the most surreal of his life, even if he cannot celebrate properly due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

He waltzed past Gary Anderson to not only win the World Championship last month, but also become the first man to dethrone Michael van Gerwen of his world No.1 spot for seven years.
