The two warring factions of the Nigeria Supporters Club are warming up to hit Russia to support the Super Eagles during the FIFA World Cup in June, SportingLife.ng can reveal.

A source revealed that the two factions have refused to sheathe their swords despite the intervention of prominent stakeholders within the football family.

While one faction is led by Rafiu Ladipo who has been there for years, the other is led by Vincent Okumagba who is alleged to have the backing of the present leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation.

“The two bodies have informed those that care to know that they would be in Russia to cheer the team to victory. We do not know what to do again,” said the concerned source.

Our source further revealed that the Ladipo led-group are equally not happy with the NFF for allocating more slots to members of the Okumagba group ahead of the World Cup.

That is what we were made to understand that more slots were given to Okumagba’s camp unlike the Ladipo faction for the World Cup,” the source said.

A running battle for power is behind the crisis which dates back to December 2016 when elections were conducted in Abuja and Lagos.
