Dogo yet to agree terms with Sunshine Stars FC

Kabiru Dogo of Sunshine Stars Football Club says he is yet to renew his contract with the Akure-based side as Technical Adviser ahead of the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Dogo told newsmen in Ilorin on Friday that the club’s management led by Tajudeen Akinyemi was not ready to shift ground on the required working conditions and remuneration he had demanded.

The former coach of ABS FC of Ilorin said he nonetheless remained hopeful that negotiations would sail through for him to remain with the club next season.

“However, I am not ruling out looking elsewhere if the deal failed to click,’’ he said.

Dogo, who joined Sunshine Stars last season after completing a five-year stint with Nasarawa United, said he appreciated the support he has got so far from the government of Ondo State.

“I also appreciate the Sunshine Stars’ management, as well as the sports-loving people of the state.

“Going forward, we are expecting that everything will go as planned for us to have a successful new season. I’m positive about that.

“We should have a better working environment with smooth working conditions, more than what we have last season, for us to take the team to a greater level.

“That’s how I think we can achieve success together. But, if we can’t, we have to move on.

“I, therefore, solicit for more to coach Sunshine Stars in the new season,” Dogo who took Sunshine Stars to an eighth-place finish in Group A of the abridged 2018/2019 NPFL season said.
