Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has pleaded with those fans allegedly threatening to kill the team’s top striker Odion Ighalo not to kill him insisting that, ‘‘ Ighalo did his best for his country like all the players and members of staff of the team.’’

Rohr was miffed that Ighalo could be fingered out as the reason Nigeria lost to Argentina pointing out that, ‘‘We cannot accept these kind of allegations. One day more of rest for the game against Argentina and a mistake in the interpretation of the VAR message were two reasons of our defeat.
‘‘But the youngest team of the World Cup, Nigeria has a great future,’’ Rohr wrote to Sportinglife.ng on Friday night, when the question of the death threats sent to Ighalo and his family was disclosed to him.
