Sanusi who made the appeal in a chat with Sportinglife .ng, said the scoreline was unbelievable because Nigeria teams have not lost to such margin in recent time but expressed confidence that the CHAN Eagles will turn the tie against the Togolese when they visit Nigeria for the return leg on October 19.

He also expressed the need for the technical crew to work with the NFF Technical department in the areas that need to be corrected before the second leg.

“You should know that this is football anything can happen within 90 minutes of play. The boys didn’t play badly because they equally miss couple of chances . Nigerians need to courage them and pray for them for I strongly believe that the CHAN Eagles will qualify for the championship. We should not write them off because Nigerians are fighters when it comes to round leather game.. The coaching crew have ample opportunity now to do the needful before the second leg qualifier,” said Sanusi.
