Eagles defender shines in West Brom’s massive win over Swansea

West Brom and Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi continued his impressive form for table-toppers in their 5-1 win over Swansea City at the Hawthorns.

The 26-year-old in his 20th consecutive league start for the Baggies nodded home the opener on the 25th-minute mark from a cutback.

Matheus Pereira then doubled their lead on the 34th minute before the visitors then pulled one back minutes later but Hal Robson-Kanu restored their two-goal lead just before halftime to put West Brom 3-1 up.

Matt Philips then made it 4-1 on the 70th minute before Kyle Edwards completed the scoring four minutes afterward to hand them their 13th victory of the campaign as they leapfrogged Leeds United to the first position.

The Nigerian finished with a game rating of 7.2, making 3 clearances and also completed 75% of his passes.
