Super Eagles vice-captain, Ogenyi Onazi is currently receiving the attention from the national team’s fitness coach as he continues recovery from injury, according to Coach Gernor Rohr.
The German revealed this much during an interview on Monday Night Football, a football program aired on Supersport.
Earlier this month, Onazi suffered a hamstring injury during Trabzonspor’s 4-0 win over Kayserispor which ensured that he lasted for just 28minutes but despite assurances from the player himself that the injury wasn’t serious, he failed to recover on time for the game against Sivasspor last weekend.
‘We sent our fitness coach to Turkey to assess Onazi,’ Rohr revealed. ‘Our doctors have done well as they assessed the player while he was in the country recently.’
Interestingly, Trabzonspor has not won any games since the absence of the Eagles midfield gem, drawing 3-3 against Osmanlıspor and lost 2-0 at home to Sivasspor.
