Eagles goal: Uzoho apologises

First choice Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho has apologised to Nigerians for the blunder he made which led to the goal that was scored by Seychelles in Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

The Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus keeper who was returning to the squad after missing Nigeria’s last Afcon match against South Africa was blamed for the equaliser scored by Seychelles Melanie Rody following his poor calculation in an attempt to punch out the ball from a free –kick.

Like his other colleagues in the team who all expressed delight that the team ended the campaign on a high, it would have still been Uzoho’s wish to end the game without conceeding a goal.

He has however promised to make up when Nigeria faces Egypt next Tuesday at the same venue.

“Mixed feelings yesterday for me. Happy to be back on this colors but not happy that i nearly cost my team the game 🤦🏾‍♂️ 🙏🏽 On to the next one to make things right 🦅IN CHRIST ALONE,” he posted on Twitter.
