Eagles resume training Wednesday morning

The Super Eagles of Nigeria would hold their first official training ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Libya on Wednesday morning with the full complement of players except Odion Ighalo and Bryan Idowu who are expected before lunch time on Wednesday.

The Eagles were expected to train this evening after the majority of players arrived earlier in the day, but it was cancelled at the last minute with head coach Gernot Rohr asking the team to use the gym within the Ibom Hotel and Resort which is where they are lodged.

22 players led by stand-in captain Ahmed Musa were part of the workout session watched by a handful of fans.

Real tactical training would resume tomorrow morning as the team begins preparations on how to secure the maximum three points against the group leaders at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium before the return leg billed for Tunisia on October 16 that will go a long way in determining who qualifies for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year.
