Eagles shot-stopper ready to dump PSL for Europe adventure

Super Eagles and Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper Daniel Akpeyi has revealed there’s a possibility of him moving to Europe from South Africa’s PSL to continue his career.

The Nigerian international has shown his quality for the Glamour Boys with a number of acrobatic saves and has taken the number one spot at the goals under coach, Middendorp, surpassing one of Africa’s best goalkeepers, Itumeleng Khune.

The 33-year-old has reportedly attracted clubs from Belgium and Saudi Arabia according to his agent.

“If the opportunity comes, yes I will consider the move, when the opportunity presents itself why not? I would like to finish my career in Europe. There’s a possibility it could happen and I look forward to it,” the goalkkeoer  was quoted as saying.

Akpeyi, who played for Warri Wolves in Nigeria’s topflight also revealed that the competition for the number one spot between him and Khune has made him the goalkeeper he is today.

The Glamour boys are currently on a two year transfer ban from FIFA and it could prove to be a stumbling block for the Nigerian as he won’t be able to move abroad if Chiefs lose the case.
