Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be in all green jersey tonight for their FIFA World Cup group D opening match against Croatia at the Kaliningrad Arena in Russia.

Playing as the away team, the kit comes in white and black patterns and it is similar to the jersey the Eagles wore at the 1995 King Fahd Cup in Saudi Arabai now known as the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Nigeria first wore the jersey dsigned by Nike last March in an international friendly against Poland which the Eagles won by a lone goal courtesy of a penalty by Victor Moses at the Stadion Miejski in Wroclaw.

This has made fans of the national team to predict victory against the East European side who parade one of the best midfields in the tournament.

Tonight’s clash will be the first meeting between the two sides since Croatia became an independent state in 1992.  The last time both sides won their opening matches was at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.

Nigeria are making their sixth appearance at the FIFA World Cup which makes them the only Africa country to hold the record.
