Eagles will give 100 percent against Benin Republic – Aribo

Joe Aribo is confident the Super Eagles will leave Port Novo with a very good result come Saturday.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will lock horns with Squirrels of Benin Republic for a place in the 2022 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.

The three-time African champions are going into the game as Group leaders, but a defeat will the Squirrels replace them on top of the group.

Speaking ahead of the crunch game, Aribo who has been present in the Super Eagles line since making his debut against Brazil back in Singapore hinted that, the Gernot Rohr side will go into the match with full confidence.

“I don’t really have any fears or worries, I just know we need to stay together as a team, we need to fight together, give 100 percent for the Country and for everyone watching and hopefully get the result we can get.”

“We know them a lot, we’ve played them once before and we’re going to study them even more in the coming days leading up to the game,” Aribo told Lagos-based Brila FM.

Since making his debut in 2019, Aribo has played in different positions in the middle and has performed exceptionally well.

When asked about his best position, the Glasgow Rangers midfielder said: ” I’d say I’m more box to box; I like to get up and down the pitch, because I want to start attacks from deep but also I have an eye for goals, so I’d say box to box, ” he submitted.
