Eaglets goalkeeper signs first professional West Ham contract

Golden Eaglets keeper, Jinadu Daniel has signed his first professional contract with Premier League side West Ham United. Another Nigerian Joshua Okotcha has also signed for the EPL side.

Jinadu featured in three matches for Nigeria at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

On the part of Okocha who is a defender, he is eligible to represent England or Nigeria.

Both players were part of the academy side with head coach Kelvin describing the duo as good players.

“Daniel Jinadu has spent a lot of time training with the U23s this season. He came in and played five U18s games in goal, including saving a penalty against Aston Villa in December. He’s a very consistent, hard-working, and intelligent goalkeeper.

Keen also praised Okotcha who captained the team last season.

“Joshua Okotcha was the U18s captain last year. He’s someone who is always extremely conscientious of working on his game and getting better. He’s a good, big, strong central defender, and I look forward to seeing how far he can progress in the future.” he said.

Other players who signed a new deal with the club are midfielder Keenan Appiah-Forson; defender Harrison Ashby; defender Sam Caiger; midfielder Dan Chester’s and defender Will Greenidge.

These players are now expected to move into the U23s squad in the coming days and continue their development.
