Super Eagles striker Sylvester Igboun has continued his impressive run in the Russia Premier League, as Dynamo Moscow lost 2-3 at home to newly promoted PFC Sochi on Sunday afternoon.

Slyvester Igboun celebrates a goal in the Russia premier league

The speedy Nigeria striker recently made one-year-loan move to Dynamo Moscow following his 25 goals performance in FC Ufa. His quality in goals scoring line is undoubted one of the best in the league at the moment.

PFC Sochi open the scoring line in 31st minutes of the game through Anton Zabolotny, the home team Dynamo Moscow took over the possession in the second half to restore back the parity in the 50th minutes through Sylvester Igboun.

The former Ufa player was an outstanding performer, terrorizing the opponent defence before scoring another goal in the 63rd minutes to take the lead. But in less than two minutes of celebrating what could be described as temporary joy by the home side, the visitors pulled back another goal in 65th minutes and completed the victorious journey in the 90th minutes of the game through Miha Mevlja and Alexander Karapetyan respectively.

“I am a team player and I appreciate my efforts collectively, I would have been more happy if we have won the match,” said Igboun.

“We lost as a team and we are going to correct our mistakes, I am happy I scored two goals which I believe I am going to score more goals subsequently but I want victories for my club. I want to celebrate with my teammates. It was a disappointing outcome at the end but we played to win and celebrate but I think we were just unlucky because we did everything we could to win the match.”

“I am still confident of my team mates, they are very lovely and hardworking players, and we showed that collective effort to win for the fans but we were just unfortunate. This is just the beginning of my goals. I will work harder to help my team get the maximum point in the subsequent games.”
