Emenalo on the verge of moving to Roma as Sports Director

 

Former Nigeria international Michael Emenalo is on the verge on taking over as Director of Sports of Serie A side Roma. after meeting with club owners.

The former Chelsea and Monaco director of sports has reportedly reached agreement with Roma owners in London and it will only be a matter of time before he moves over.

Emenalo is said to have received guarantees on the autonomy he would require carrying out his job. Emenalo who was technical Director at the Stamford Bridge for six years had a brief stay with Monaco before parting ways with the club on mutual agreement.

Though the likes of Hamburg manager Jonas Boldt and Ralf Rangnick have also being linked with the Giallorossi, Emenalo is said to be topping the list of preference and only waiting for confirmation from Roma to move to the Capital.

Meanwhile former Roma Sporting Director Gianluca Petrachi has sued the Giallorossi insisting that termination of his contract was illegal.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Petrachi has sued Roma asking for €5m compensation as he believes he was dismissed without just cause.

Roma appointed Gianluca Petrachi as their sporting director on 25 June 2019, after reaching an agreement with Serie A rivals Torino. Petrachi signed a three-year deal to succeed Frederic Massara, who filled the role following Monchi’s exit in March.
