Emenike eyes Fernebahce reunion

Retired Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike could be heading back to Turkish giants Fernebahce after parting ways with Greek side Olympiakos this season.

According to reports, Emenike who failed to extend his contract with the Greek champions due to a long term injury is  looking forward to rejoining the Istanbul side next season.

The Nigeria international who quit international football in 2015, joined Olympiacos on July 6, 2017 on a two-year deal for a fee of €3.8 million from Fenerbahce.

Olympiacos had to ship Emenike on loan to Spanish club, Las Palmas at the beginning of the year but he ended up not playing an official game due to the injury.

To revive his career, Emenike is now considering a return to Fernebahce where he made 69 appearances and scored 11 goals.

He first joined the Istanbul side in 2011 for 9 million euros and in 2013, was re-signed for a fee worth €13m.

Besides Fernebahce, Emenike who wedded ex-Beauty Queen Iheoma Nnnadi this year has played for eight different clubs in Europe which includes Spartak Moscow, West Ham United and Karabukspor.
