Emmanuel Dennis excited to link up with compatriots at Watford

Watford’s new signing Emmanuel Dennis says he’s happy to link up with his compatriots William Troost-Ekong and Isaac Success.

Dennis signed for the Hornets from Club Brugge this summer to increase the number of Nigerians at the club to four.

Speaking to Watford’s media after a training session, Dennis explained his connection with the duo.

“I’ve played with Troost-Ekong in the national team so we’re cool together, there’s a connection. Isaac Success is my guy. We’re friends, he’s a nice guy, we hang out, we laugh a lot,” he said.

While Success is still trying to find his feet after a long injury layoff, the last Nigerian striker to make a big impact at Watford is Odion Ighalo who netted 36 goals before leaving the club.

Dennis, 23, admitted the former Super Eagles striker is an inspiration to him and he’s hoping to emulate match his feat at the club.

“I’m a big fan of Ighalo. I watched him play here at Watford and score a lot of goals. I played against him in the Europa League so I met him after the game, we spoke together, he’s an inspiration.” he said.
