England to face Germany at Wembley in Euros last-16

England will face Germany at Wembley in the last-16 of Euro 2020 after a dramatic finish to Group F.

The Three Lions beat the Czech Republic 1-0 on Tuesday night to win Group D and set up a knockout game against whoever finished as runners-up in Group F on Wednesday night.

Portugal and France drew 2-2 while Germany twice fought back to draw 2-2 with Hungary in Munich to reach the knockout stages.

Such was the swing of goals and positions in the ‘group of death’ that England were playing each of France, Portugal, Germany and Hungary and different points of the night.

However, the final results meant that France finished top of the group, with Germany second, Portugal third and Hungary fourth as the 2014 World Cup winners crashed out.

With Germany finishing second, they will now face England at Wembley Stadium in a repeat of the Euro ‘96 final, which the Germans won with a penalty shootout before going on to win the tournament.

England vs Germany will kick off at 5pm BST on Tuesday, June 29.
