Enyeama Marks 36th Birthday With Mixed Feelings

Former Super Eagles Skipper and Nigeria International Vicent Enyeama is happy and grateful for life as he clocked 36 on Wednesday, however not without concern as he celebrated.

On Wednesday the Lille of France star took to Twitter to mark his new age with a video post, praying and praising God.

The Kaduna born shot stopper who is often referred to as pastor did not only went spiritual in the video but also shared picture holding a golden coloured candle lightening cake to mark his special day.

Enyeama is Nigeria’s most-capped player of all-time with 101. After three successive third-place finishes, the Lille custodian finally clinched the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2013. He has also recorded tremendous success in terms of trophies.

Recall that the birthday boy abruptly quit international football two years ago after under former Supwer Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh.

At club level, the Nigerian has also enjoyed some measure of success. He won the Israeli league and cup twice apiece as well as the country’s best player of the season once.

Since moving to Lille in 2011, the 36-year-old has featured in over 100 matches. However, the last couple of seasons hasn’t been memorable. Enyeama is yet to start a game since the 2016/17 season.

He however could not allow that to weigh him down on his birthday, as he tweeted: “Grateful heart. Thank God for another year.”
