Enyimba to face MFM without Ikouwem, two others

Enyimba will face MFM today in an NPFL Matchday 13 tie without Stephen Manyo, Ikouwem Udo Utin and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu who have been left behind ahead of the crunch tie.

The People’s Elephant will trade tackle with the Olukoya Boys in a top of the table clash but SportingLife scooped from those that should know in the club that head coach, Usman Abd’Allah was saturated with players that he could leave out Manyo and Utin who were in the camp of the Under 23 and the Super Eagles until Tuesday this week while Ibenegbu who has become a bit-part player in Enyimba was also overlooked.

But Valentine Ozornwafor who played a starring role in the Under 23 qualification for the final round of the Under 23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers where Nigeria pummeled Libya 4-0 in Asaba traveled
with Enyimba to Lagos probably because of his performance in the game.

Enyimba have not lost to MFM before since they met for the first time in 2016 season and it was only last season that the People’s Elephant broke the winless run against Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men when they beat the team 2-0 and they repeated the feat at the beginning of the current campaign also by another 2-0.

The People’s Elephant are in the second spot in the NPFL Group A with 19 points from 12 games and an away win in Lagos could see Usman Abd’Allah’s men move to the top of the table ahead of MFM on goals difference.
