The unfortunate incident happened in the 15th minute of the game when Usule contested an aerial ball with the goalkeeper and got a blow to his cheek which forced one of his teeth out accidentally.  Usule started vomiting blood thereafter before he was calmed by the Enyimba medical team in conjunction with the first aid
team before he was taken to the hospital.

It was a sad scene to behold immediately it happened with the players of both teams having their hands carrying their heads in total shock and disbelief as to what had befallen the Enyimba striker who was the team’s match hero in Katsina against Katsina United last Sunday.

He was initially knocked unconscious before he was revived and taken for further checks.

A relieved head coach of Enyimba, Usman Abd’Allah told Sportinglife.ng that Usule is fine and responding
to treatment but they are still waiting for more clarifications from the doctors to ascertain the severity of the injury.

“Usule is fine and this elicited joy from the bench of the Enyimba team everyone was not happy with the way he left the stadium,” Abd’Allah told Sportinglife.ng.

“I was told the player was more concerned about the result of the game and that he was calmed when he heard we won 3-1. We will hear more tomorrow (today) of what the doctor will say on how serious or light his situation is.

“We are ready to give him all the time in the world for him to recover.”

Enyimba went ahead to win the game 3-1 with the infringement on Usule accounting for the spot-kick which
Austin Oladapo used to open the floodgate of goals for the reigning league champions.
