The day after the win, on Goedemorgen Eredivisie, Kraay Jr revealed a text he received from the United manager: “I had texted him, because I liked that after two horrible matches he is now finally booking victories.

“I congratulated him, and then he texted back: ‘F***ing great’.”

Kraay Jr also said of the improvement in United: “Erik ten Hag is pre-eminently a trainer who wants to build up, but even he allows a far goal kick against Liverpool. Then it must be connected within six seconds.”

Kraay Jr insists Ten Hag didn’t play the long ball: “Erik ten Hag calls it ‘playing over the first press’.”
