EPL: Our strikers not aggressive enough, says Everton boss Lampard

Everton boss, Frank Lampard, has revealed that his striking attackers have not been living up to the expectations of their fans this season.

The Toffees manager is well aware that his team must improve on all fronts to survive in the Premier League.

One glaring issue is that Everton have only 17 goals in 22 matches in all competitions this term.

Asked about goal scoring by the Liverpool Echo, he said: “We have to do better. We have talked about it a lot in terms of what an attacking and clinical threat does in games.

“You see it in the league, that feeling of not scoring enough goals is hard because you can have good periods in games but if you aren’t scoring it keeps the other team in the game.

“It has been a problem for us this year, without a doubt. Sometimes as a coach you want to work to get there and the last bit is the hard bit in terms of you needing the individual to score.

“That is not me taking my responsibility out of it, but it is a fact. We haven’t done it enough.”
