EPL: Pochettino ‘not going to Manchester Utd’ – Insider

Mauricio Pochettino wants to return to Premier League management – but with Tottenham and not Manchester United, according to an insider.

Pochettino left Spurs in November 2019 following a fall from grace from the heights of the Champions League final. Indeed, the Argentine had given Tottenham major hope of ending their trophy drought but could not sustain his progress.

As a result, he took time out of management before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in January 2021. And Pochettino extended his contract last July until the summer of 2023.

Since then, though, doubt over his future has emerged. Man Utd are reportedly after him in their search for a long-term successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In response, PSG sporting director Leonardo claimed this week that Pochettino looks “increasingly committed” to the club. Nevertheless, links with his exit remain.

According to a Spurs contact of talkSPORT host Alan Brazil, the 50-year-old still wants a Premier League return. However, Pochettino instead wants a stunning return to north London.

“Pochettino is not going to United – Man Utd have been warned by PSG sporting director [Leonardo] that Pochettino has no intention of leaving Paris,” Brazil told talkSPORT.

“Well, I tell you right now, that is not the case. From the horses mouth, Poch wants to come back to the Premier [League] and he wants to come back with Tottenham.”
