EPL: Reguilon scores winner as Conte gets off the mark at Tottenham

Tottenham had to come from behind to beat Leeds 2-1 and give Antonio Conte his first Premier League win at the club.

Dan James sent Leeds in at the break ahead, and deservedly so, as Tottenham made it six successive halves without a shot on target.

But Spurs responded, and got the three points thanks to goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon.

Leeds dominated the early stages of the match, with Kalvin Phillips having a free-kick saved before Stuart Dallas fired an effort just wide.

Harry Kane produced some bright moments when dropping deep, but Spurs offered very little going forward.

On the verge of half-time, Leeds got the goal they deserved. Jack Harrison beat Emerson Royal and sent a ball across the face of goal, where Dan James was on hand to meet it and put his side in front.

Tottenham were much-improved after the break and had far more intensity to their game.

Kane had a shot saved inside 30 seconds, while Son hit the bar shortly after.

The equaliser came through the unlikely source of Hojbjerg, who scuffed a shot past Illan Meslier, after good work from Lucas Moura.

It was a similarly surprise goalscorer for the winner. Eric Dier’s free-kick deflected onto the post, and Reguilon was running in to tap home the rebound.

There were some nervy moments late on, but Spurs held on to move up to seventh in the table.
