Etebo makes World Cup XI

Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo has been included in the World Cup team of the week compiled by
international online football website Sofascore after the first round of matches at the ongoing FIFA
World Cup.

Etebo who scored an own goal against Croatia is the only Nigerian on the First XI that is dominated by
players from Mexico following their lone goal victory against defending champions Germany last Sunday.

The newly-signed Stoke of England midfielder was rated 7.8 completing a pass accuracy of 92.5%, winning
19 of his 23 duels contested, completing 100% dribbles, whilst also recording a stat as the most fouled
player on the pitch after been brought down 9 times by the opposition.

Also on the list is four-goal hero, Cristiano Ronaldo and Spain’s Diego Costa. Omitted from the list
which should not come as a surprise is Lionel Messi of Argentina following his average game against
Iceland despite losing a penalty.
