Super Eagles midfield gem, Oghenekaro Etebo has revealed to SportingLife.ng why he missed the glamour game against European Champions, Real Madrid at the weekend but has set his sights on a return to action against Levante on April 8.

The 22-year-old, who has been in fantastic form since he joined Las Palmas on loan in January haven’t played since he picked up an injury during his side’s 2-0 defeat in the hands of Villarreal early in March.

As a result, Etebo missed La Liga games against Deportivo La Couruna and Real Madrid. Also, he missed Super Eagles friendlies against Poland and Serbia but has recovered from injury and ready to return.

“I really wanted to play against Real Madrid but I had just recovered from injury and didn’t want to rush back,” the former Warri Wolves forward told SportingLife from his base in Spain.

“Now, I’m fit and ready to return and hopefully the manager will pick me against Levante next weekend.”

Las Palmas were pummelled 3-0 by Real Madrid in a La Liga fixture on Saturday but will hope to return to winning ways next week when they travel to Levante with Etebo in their squad.
