Eto’o’s Son Dropped From Cameroon U-17 World Cup Squad

 

Etienne Eto’o Pineda, son of ex-Cameroon striker, Samuel Eto’o has been dropped from the country’s squad for the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil after failing to convince the team’s technical set up.

He was hoping to make the final cut despite not representing the team at the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania, which the Central African Nation won.

The Real Mallorca youth team captain who is also eligible to play for Spain was dropped alongside five players.

They are Aurel Tiki Joel, Jordan Konango, Bryan Djile Nokoue, Enzo Tchato, and Dani Barel Fotso, who ply their trade in Europe for Olympique Lyonnais, Monaco, Saint-Etienne, Montpellier and Roma, respectively.

Cameroon who will be making their second appearance at the age-grade competition are in Group E along with Tajikistan, Spain, and Argentina.
