Euro 2020: “Hazard is better, but he’s not 100%”

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez doesn’t believe Eden Hazard is 100% at the moment. He will be one of his stars for the European Championships even though his season hasn’t been brilliant, and in an interview with ‘Deportes Cuatro’ he seriously analysed this aspect. He also spoke about other news regarding the national team.

“Since March he’s better, but he’s not 100%. He’s working very hard to recover his form. What happened at Madrid is very unusual, he will never give up. He’s also lost a year-and-a-half without playing with the national team, not just at club level”, he said about the Real Madrid player.

When asked about the style of his players, or what can be expected from his side on the pitch, as well as who are favourites for the tournament, he asserted: “We’re a very eye-catching side, we’re used to taking risks. England are the favourites. Playing six matches at Wembley is a real advantage”.

He also gave his opinion regarding the absence of Sergio Ramos in Spain’s squad: “You have to make decisions for the good of the group, Spain have earned the respect that the result against Germany has brought them”. In his view, them, Luis Enrique’s decision has to be understood by supporters, even though there have been a few notable absenties.
