Europa Conference: Villarreal won’t underrate Lech Poznan, says Emery 

Villarreal coach Unai Emery has said they won’t underestimate Europa Conference League opponents Lech Poznan.

Emery knows Villarreal are expected to defeat the Poles tonight.

He said, “We want to give continuity to what we have done both in pre-season and at the start of LaLiga. We also want to strengthen our style, be demanding in our search for a good performance and be able to get our hopes up on the road to Europe, which has given us some great moments.

“Winning is very difficult. It’s going to be a beautiful path, but also a complicated one. We can’t set ourselves the objective of winning the competition. The first objective we set ourselves is to finish first in the group stage.

“The whole group is very motivated. The challenge is to be able to maintain consistency and motivation in all three competitions and for everyone to be involved. This will be the main difficulty on our journey.

“Lech Poznan are a team that plays in a league with a lot of history. They are a team with important credentials that we have to respect. In the league they are back on form after winning their last three games. They have good players on the flanks, they are used to winning in their league, they play good football and they have quite a few internationals.”
