Europa: Tottenham has one leg in next round -Mourinho

Spurs Manager Jose Mourinho believes his team already has a foot in the next round after embattled Gareth Bale gingered the team to victory over Wolfsberger.

Bale shone like a star in  4-1 away win over Wolfsberger in the Europa League last-32 first leg.

The Welshman scored and assisted for the first time since 2013 as Spurs all but booked their place in the round of 16.

Jose Mourinho’s side were ahead after 13 minutes when Bale crossed for Son Heung-min to head home the opener.

Bale then cut inside and unleashed a superb left-footed strike to make it 2-0.

Lucas Moura made it comfortable before half-time with a sublime solo goal.

That was until Wolfsberger got back into the game through Michael Liendl’s penalty shortly after half-time.

But no comeback eventuated as Tottenham found their fourth late on through substitute Carlos Vinicius.

And Mourinho admitted after the game that his side had done enough to book their place in the next round.
