Everton fans celebrate Iwobi’s outstanding show against Wolves

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Alex Iwobi’s performance as the Toffees beat Wolves 2-1 on Tuesday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men took three points from their trip to Molineux. It did appear that it was set to be a frustrating night for the supporters.

After taking an early lead, Everton were pegged back by the home side eight minutes later. But Michael Keane headed home late on in the second-half to secure their third consecutive away win in the league.

It was fitting that Iwobi was the player to score Everton’s first goal. Many felt that he was one of Everton’s real shining lights.

He looked bright. And some felt that he would have probably had a greater impact on the game if Everton were able to call upon a recognised striker.

As shown by Whoscored.com, he completed more tackles than any other Everton player. And he made a number of impressive runs forward that showed his intent.

Iwobi – who earns £50,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has not always had the easiest time on Merseyside. He had struggled to live up to expectations following a big-money move from Arsenal.

But he has produced a number of superb performances this season. And following his goal on Tuesday, many Toffees fans were left lauding the Nigeria international once again.
