Everton join Wolves in pursuit of Milan striker

Everton have joined Wolverhampton Wanderers and Borussia Dortmund in pursuing Milan striker Rafael Leao, but the asking price remains €25m.

The 22-year-old was purchased from Lille in 2019 for €29.5m and as part of that deal, the French side are owed 20 per cent of any future transfer fee.

The Sporting CP youth product has struggled to find his role under Stefano Pioli, able to play as a centre-forward or in a more supporting position.

He found the net seven times in 40 competitive games last season, also providing six assists for his teammates.

Wolves and Borussia Dortmund had already been linked with the pacey Portuguese talent, but now the Corriere dello Sport notes that Everton are also interested in a possible summer swoop.

Milan have made clear they will only consider a sale for a minimum of €25m, as while Leao is not necessarily the first choice striker, he is not being pushed out onto the transfer market either.
