Every game at World Cup was amazing—-Balogun

Super Eagles and Brighton & Hove Albion defender Leon Balogun has described his maiden appearance at the 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup was an amazing experience he would cherish for a long time.

Bolagun was reflecting on his career with Brightonandhovealbion.com recently said that Eagles was unlucky to have lost the last 16 qualification to Argentina.

“When I was at Mainz, we managed to beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. Every game of the World Cup was also amazing, because it’s just so special. We were so close to going through to the last 16 against Argentina and would have played France. The atmosphere was crazy,” he said.

Recalling his best matches, he said: “I had one very crazy game with Mainz two years ago; we were fighting relegation and we played Frankfurt and needed a win to be safe.
“It was the second to last game of the season, at home against Frankfurt, which is a big derby game. We were 2-0 down, but came back to win 4-2 towards the end — that was sick!
“The game that promoted me and my team Darmstadt from the second to first division was also exciting. The Palace game from this season was amazing, as well as the Manchester United win,” he added.

Today, Bolagun will not be available when his team visit Leicester City in the English Premier League match after Coach Chris Hughton confirmed that 30-year-old will miss the encounter as he is yet to recover from a shoulder injury he suffered in training a fortnight ago.
