Evra: Cavani the man, the character Man Utd need

Manchester United hero, Patrice Evra, was quickly won over by Edinson Cavani in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

Evra believes Cavani will be the sort of signing that can inject more impetus and character into their attacking play – pointing to the near-instant impact the debutant made.

He said: “Of course it’s about the result but that’s their way to play, it’s their philosophy and DNA.

“For Chelsea and United, it’s not in their DNA to play that way. We need fear, we need men, we need character, that’s why, people may not agree with Edinson Cavani, but for me he’s a great signing.

“This team needs men, they need character.

“You can see when he came on, first touch, he was sharp.

“I know some people would have preferred Jadon Sancho but Cavani is what I’m talking about. People come with no fear.”
