Ex-Bayern Munich star Basler sees Alaba joining Liverpool

Former Bayern Munich star, Mario Basler, can see David Alaba joining Liverpool in January.

He feels that Alaba – who is into the last year of his contract at Bayern and showing little sign of extending what has been a 10-year stay – would be a perfect addition for the Reds.

“The story with Alaba should really end with him going away,” Basler told Sport1-Fantalk.

“Maybe he’ll go to Liverpool. They have big problems with the injury to Van Dijk and the cruciate ligament rupture.

“He’s supposed to be out for a long time, and I think there’s a big need (to strengthen) in the central defender position.”
