Ex-Super Eagles midfielder Obiora Nwankwo joins Porto side Chavez

Former Super Eagles midfielder Obiora Nwankwo has joined second division Portuguese club Chavez, saying he hopes to soon return to the top where he belongs.

Obiora, who signed a year’s deal with the club, said he is delighted to sign the dotted line as he is set to do well for the club to return to the top league.

“Chavez are a good club. I signed a year deal with them,” he told scoreigeria.

“I am here to do my best for the club, and also get playing time, so I can move back up to where I belong, God willing.”

He has previously played for Inter Milan, Parma, Gubbio, Padova (all in Italy), CFR Cluj (Romania), Real Murcia, Cordoba (both in Spain), Academica De Coimbra, Boavista (both in Portugal) and Levadiakos(Greece).

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder has represented Nigeria at U20, U23 and full international levels.
