EXPO! Investigators aledge Saurez cheated in Italian Exam

Luis Suarez did cheat on his Italian exam, a police investigation has uncovered.

The former Barcelona and Liverpool striker took the test in a bid to secure Italian citizenship ahead of a failed move to Juventus in September.

Suarez, whose wife Sofia Balbi is of Italian descent, passed the exam at the University of Perugia.

But immediately after there were claims that there were ‘irregularities’ in the test and that the Uruguayan was privy to the questions in advance.

It also emerged that Suarez was not able to speak a word of Italian and yet somehow he passed.

And an investigation has proved that the suspicions of cheating were indeed true as Suarez had been made aware of the paper’s contents before he sat the test.

The university’s directors Simone Olivieri, along with three professors, have been hit with an eight-month suspension as a result of their conduct.

They have been found guilty of “coming to predetermine the outcome and the score of the exam, to correspond to the requests that they had been put forward by Juventus, with the aim of achieving a positive return of image, both personal and for the university.”

Similarly, some Juventus officials, including sporting director Fabio Paratici, are being probed by Italian police having been found to have put pressure on in order for Suarez to get the all-important Italian passport.

Despite looking nailed on, the free transfer fell through and Suarez remained in Spain signing a two-year contract with Atletico Madrid.
