Ezenwa dismisses injury concerns ahead Libya

Nigeria goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who currently plays for Enyimba International F.C has said that he is fit and ready to be part of the invited team mates in the camp for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualification tournament against Libya on October 13 and 16 irrespective of growing concerns of injury he developed during the Aiteo Cup quarter final loss to Kano Pillars on Sunday.

Former Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper after the match said he is ready to go. ““I will be fit to hit the camp. First of all I want to thank God that the injury wasn’t that serious. It was just because of the heat and I couldn’t see well but with the medical attention I got I think I have recovered well.”

The Yenegoa born started in goal for the People’s Elephant in the encounter that ended in 4 – 2 in favour of the Kano based outfit but was taken off in the first half after suffering an injury to the face.

Ezenwa is one of the goalkeepers invited by head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr ahead of the double header against Libya. The others are Francis Uzoho (Elche, Spain) and Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United, South Africa).

“He (Ezenwa) got injured in the first half but he is fine now. He was involved in a collision and couldn’t see clearly so he was taken out. I spoke with him after the game and he said he was fine and ready to be in the Super Eagles camp today (Monday)”
