FA Cup: Arteta warns Arsenal players ahead of Leeds clash

Mikel Arteta has instructed his Arsenal stars to “create more fear” ahead of Monday night’s FA Cup clash with Leeds.

The new Gunners boss oversaw his first win against Manchester United last time out in the Premier League, and is looking for consistency from his side.

Leeds go into the match at the Emirates as the Championship leaders and boss Marcelo Bielsa looks set to play a full-strength side.

Arteta explained to his players he wants 100 percent commitment from them when he replaced Unai Emery at the helm.

And the Spaniard has once again reminded his squad what it means to play for a club with a rich history of winning trophies.

“When you take the fans to Wembley they are all proud of you,” explained the Gunners boss.
“It’s a special day for everyone, they all travel with their families looking for success.

“The history of this club means they are used to winning trophies and when you do that it generates something special. So if we can get connected with the fan-base again, that will be a powerful weapon.

“It’s in our own hands. If we can give the supporters what they want, I am sure they will give us even more.

“When we know the fans are behind us, we have to pinch the players to react to them and use them to have a better performance and create more fear for the opponent.”
