Family issues stops Musa from returning to Saudi

Stand-in Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa is likely to miss Friday’s league match for Al Nassr after he opted to return to Nigeria to attend to family matters.

Al Nassr who are top of the league with 15 points are away to Al Baten in the Saudi Premier League.

Musa was expected back in Saudi Arabia after Tuesday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya, but instead returned with the Nigeria delegation aboard a chartered flight that flew to Abuja on Wednesday morning.

The father of three who is well celebrated in Saudi after his hat-trick last month has scored four goals from five matches. He was also on target for the Eagles on Tuesday scoring the second goal before Odion Ighalo wrapped up the game with his second of the night to secure the nine points.
