FCT Sports Writers to Dennerby: You must beat Zambia

Some football analysts have dismissed the reason given by the super falcons coach Thomas Dennerby who attributed the 0 -1 lost to Bayana Bayana of South Africa’, AWCON opener due to lack of friendlies towards preparations to tournament as unacceptable and baseless.

Richard Jideaka of Complete Sports said the foriegn coach has not added anything to the team as there was no technical input in the game against South Africa.

He said anything short of the trophy the coach (Dennerby) should be sacked from the tournament. “Look if this is what the coach can offer for the nation then the foriegn coach project is a wasted venture. Our coaches have done better than what we played against South Africa”.

Lekan Sowande of the Voice of Nigeria described the Super Falcons game as tactless and unpurposeful without technical addition in the team. “I must tell you, Nigeria must beat Zambia to stay in the competition as a draw may not favour the Super Falcons. But I must say that the coach (Dennerby) has not shown anything technical to prove thst he is better than our local coaches.

Chiduka Ndubueze, Fct SWAN Chairman, described the Super Falcons outing in the first game as a team in decline and called for total overhauling of the team after the competition as the present players lack hunger having seen and won it all in the continent.

He added “against Zambia the girls must show us they are still the Super Falcons we are proud of by winning Zambia convincingly in order to remain in the competition”.

Meanwhile, the Super Falcons will host Zambia today (Wednesday) in the second group B match.
